New York City: The Empire State Building

Visiting the Empire State Building is one of those things that you just have to do at least once when you visit New York.  Here is our experience from our trip in the summer of 2015.

First of all, research tips on when the best time is to visit.  We ignored them and ended up waiting in line for way longer than it was worth!  You can invest in VIP tickets to skip the line.  They are not cheap but it would have made for a much more enjoyable experience.  We decided to skip the extra fee and wait in the LONG line.

It wasn't easy to move around!

The little islands to the right are Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.
So tiny compared to what I expected from movies.
If it would have been available, we would have read this book (prior to our visit) to add some history.
Where is the Empire State Building?
